In 2019, while serving as a Deputy Superintendent, Beacon’s founder led Raymondville ISD to exit TRS ActiveCare in response to rising costs and widespread employee underinsurance. The district launched a custom health plan that now provides 100% of employees with high-quality coverage — at $0 premium, $0 copay, and $0 deductible. Remarkably, this was achieved without increasing the district’s $350 per employee monthly contribution. This success became the foundation for Beacon’s mission: helping other organizations achieve bold, practical solutions.
Myra Green Middle School and LC Smith Elementary were once among the lowest performing campuses in the Region. Through strategic instructional redesign, targeted staffing decisions, and leadership coaching, Beacon’s founder led a dramatic turnaround—transforming MGMS and LC Smith into A-rated campuses and two of the top-performing schools in the Rio Grande Valley.
